Recreational Sharpening

We recommend getting your new skates sharpened before you skate on them. The factory grind is not suitable for effective skating.
The "recreational sharpening" is a basic sharpening for recreational, entry level or beginner instructional level skaters. Our technician will level the factory edge and remove most defects on the blade from the factory. This will leave a nice smooth edge suitable for skating on.
Our recreational grind is 3/4” ROH to 5/8" ROH. If you prefer a deeper hollow, please choose the “Competitive Sharpening” where you can select the hollow you prefer.
If you are shipping your skates to us to be sharpened, you are responsible for shipping fees to and from our shop. Please include a check or money order in your skate box to cover return shipping costs. We will send the skates back to you the same shipping method you sent them to us so the cost should be the same.
